Un court moment véritable, 2024

Marcel Katuchevski

Marcel Katuchevski was born in 1947 in Les Andelys. He lives and works in Paris. Coming from painting, he has devoted himself mainly to drawing for 10 years. “Marcel Katuchevski welcomes everything and dares everything, including ugliness, including fear. He wants to be "the inhabitant of the outside". He explores the history of humanity, gives substance to its cataclysms, its openings, its horrors. He places at the heart of the same drawing the multiple layers of history that collide. "Anne Reinbold Marcel Katuchevski," The color of the shadow "Le Cahier dessiné # 8, April 2013" Whether charcoal or pencil offer a material as lavish of varied effects as the games of oil painting, c 'is what the lead pencil improvisations of Marcel Katuchevski demonstrate. Through the smear, the lead powder, the scribbling, the assertive or wandering line, the exfoliation, by juxtaposition of a thick blurring and the clear line of a refined drawing, Katuchevski finds in the only pencil an equivalent to the ranges without limit of the abstract painter, to the ductility of his medium, to his chromatic sensuality. It cannot be denied that there is a beauty of disorder. Who is not sensitive to the obsessive sketching of a Giacometti or an Antonin Artaud. Who has not one day been seduced by the beauty of a rough draft, suddenly superior to that of the nickname "clean", seduced by the beauty of the jumble, whether it is that of an artist's studio mess, or that from the margins of a school notebook? There is a mysterious flavor of the unfinished, the suspenseful, the sketched, the study sheet, the site, the gratuitous, the experimental freely blackening the page. "Xavier Bureau Galerie Claire Corcia September 2015" Just the pencil and the eraser to express all the nuances: from violence to softness. The line can be violent, indecisive or precise, crossed out, overloaded or blurred, the eraser intervenes to signify certain lines of force of the drawing. This relationship between violence and softness induced by the technique is also found in the treatment of the subjects: violence of the themes and organic softness of the curves expressing the forms. Necessity of drawing in black and white, rarely enhanced with color, to express through this economy of means in the present memories which are not his own but of his history. The space of the paper becomes the space where windows open, tightly framed by tracking shots on instants or bodies with indefinite ends. This fragmentation without concern for structure expresses what the artist allows himself as a space of freedom while he knows the constraints and balances. Be careful not to go directly to the heart of the subject, lest it disappear like dreams in the morning. The only way to fight against what escapes, against erasure. Fix the decomposition and the distorting growths, hold back from this human staring at me from behind. »Martine Lusardy Exhibition Eloge du Dessin From March 24 to August 29, 2008 Halle Saint Pierre, Paris CRITICAL FORTUNE: Philippe Garnier, Le Cahier dessiné n ° 10, January 2015 Philippe Garnier, Le Cahier dessiné n ° 9," Souvenirs d'enfance " , March 2014 Jean-Yves Mesguich, Praise of the drawing Jean-Yves Mesguich, The rustling of the line Anne Reinbold, The drawing book n ° 8 Albin Michel Bernard Desportes, The space of the black, Notes on the space next to the drawing of MK Réouven Ogien, Looking at white shadows by Marcel Katuchevski Yaël Cange, D'humain, Tellement Jeannine Rivais, Les misfortunes de la guerre, Ozenda Bulletin PRESS: Nouvelle Quinzaine Littéraire n ° 1124 March 16-31, 2015 on the exhibition "les Drawn notebooks ”Gilbert Lascaux France 3 regional Ile de France on the exhibition“ Drawn notebooks ”January 29, 2015 RFI 21“ You tell me some news ”Jean-François Cadet broadcast on the exhibition“ Drawn notebooks ”January 21 2015 Photoblog by Renaud Montfourny in blog in roks, 2012 Blog, Fabrice Thumerel, 2010 L'Arche n ° 599-629, 2008-2009 Télérama n ° 3039-3047-3116-3253, Bénédicte Philippe Artension n ° 84-41, Christian Noorbergen 2007-2008 La Gazette Drouot n ° 27, Lydia Harambourg, 2008 Azart n ° 9, Françoise Monnin Pariscope n ° 2086, Alexandre Grenier, 2008 Film 20 minutes, Pick up traces, Ariane Pick, Yves Prince, Yeswe film BIBLIOGRAPHY: - Act of faith, René Pons, ed .
