Description
Dadamaino – Original Ink Drawing
An exceptional original ink drawing by the pioneering Italian artist Dadamaino, one of the leading figures of the European ZERO movement and Italian Post-War Art.
Original ink on cardboard.
Signed, dated and inscribed by the artist on the reverse.
The reverse remains fully visible through the Plexiglas back of the frame.
Executed with remarkable precision, this unique work perfectly embodies her lifelong exploration of rhythm, space and infinite visual structures.
The composition is built from thousands of meticulously placed ink dots interwoven with delicate circular clusters of fine, rhythmic lines. Together they form an ethereal constellation that evokes a vast cosmic landscape or star-filled galaxy, creating a compelling sense of movement, expansion and infinite space. The subtle variations in density and pattern invite the viewer to experience the work both as an abstract composition and as a meditation on the relationship between order and the boundless universe.
Throughout her career, Dadamaino developed a highly distinctive visual language in which repetition, precision and emptiness became essential artistic elements. Rather than depicting physical objects, her works investigate perception, energy and the invisible structures that connect nature, science and the cosmos.
The drawing is professionally framed, in our own frame-shop, in a custom-made, acid-free purple linen passe-partout, in an exclusive white wooden frame with Plexiglas® Optical HC (UV protection, scratch-resistant, minimal reflection). Size approx. 51 x 57 cm.
Dadamaino (1930–2004), born Eduarda Emilia Maino, was one of the most important female artists of the international ZERO movement. Closely associated with artists such as Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni and Heinz Mack, she gained international recognition for her innovative investigations into space, light and serial abstraction.
Her works are held in major museum collections worldwide, including the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the Tate Modern, London, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice.
Authenticity and provenance guaranteed.
