Description
Gouache on canvas mounted cardboard.
This artwork is an evocative expressionist piece, characterized by bold, gestural brushstrokes and a limited, yet striking color palette of deep reds, pinks, and muted greens. The composition features an abstracted face, conveying a depth of emotion through its asymmetrical features and haunting gaze. The artist employs a textured technique, with visible layering and fluid transitions between colors, creating a sense of movement. The background, a blend of dark hues, contrasts sharply with the lighter shades of the face, enhancing its prominence and adding depth. The use of color and form captures an intense internal world, inviting viewers to engage with the complexity of human emotion. The signature in the corner attests to the artist's distinctive style, marking this as a unique, contemplative work that challenges conventional portraiture.
