Description
In this elegant and sensual artwork I explore the quiet tension between exposure and mystery. Against a warm beige, coffee-toned vintage background, I drew a retro sofa in expressive charcoal contours. Upon it sits a nude woman — a sensual female figure whose posture reveals both confidence and vulnerability. Her hat and delicate veil partially hide her face, creating a sense of intrigue while emphasizing the curves of the female body.
The composition celebrates the beauty of the nude: the soft line of the female breast, the length of the female legs, and the graceful curve of the female thigh. The body is rendered through minimal, gestural strokes, allowing the viewer to complete the form with imagination.
At the woman's feet lies an appliqué of real guipure lace fabric — a tactile element suggesting a dress that has been removed and abandoned beside her. This textile detail brings a subtle narrative and a vintage, retro-style intimacy to the piece.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
