Description
In this painting, titled “A Piece of the Sea,” I sought to capture the eternal beauty and soothing presence of the ocean. With flowing waves of blue and delicate white lines, this abstract piece reflects my deep love for the sea—its vastness, its tranquility, and its ability to awaken the soul. It is not merely a depiction of water, but an invitation to experience the emotions the ocean evokes.
Each wave represents the rhythmic ebb and flow of life, a reminder of how the sea carries both peace and energy within its depths. The soft gradients of blue and aqua evoke a sense of calm, while the crisp white lines echo the gentle foam of waves kissing the shore. This interplay of colors and lines creates a harmony that mirrors the ocean’s duality: serene yet powerful.
“A Piece of the Sea” is my homage to the endless inspiration drawn from nature’s waters. It is a fragment of the ocean, a moment frozen in time, designed to bring the viewer closer to the soothing embrace of the sea.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
