Presentation
Born in France, lives and works in Paris. C. Harbadi studied art “BTS Visual Arts Images and Communication” at the École Supérieure d'Arts Appliqués Duperré and volume/modeling (Paris).
Her work unfolds across various media, but her primary medium remains paper, which she has explored in series for several years. It was a natural return in 2017 to her first love: paper, which she continues to explore and reinterpret, sometimes even venturing into three dimensions with artist's books. Drawing occupies a central place in her work today.
Clara Harbadi strives to weave implicit connections between the living world and her experience as an artist. She has developed a personal style based on the repetition of elements, which she explores drawing after drawing. Her work is particularly diverse, subject to all sorts of variations. Working in series allows her to imagine multiple possibilities and find coherence in the whole, intertwining lines, shapes, writing, and collages that punctuate the paper. She allows herself to be surprised by a cut-out piece of paper, to engage in improvised graphic writing in a kind of letting go to attempt free gestural expression, then to return to calmer moments, in search of ordered rigor.
