This dynamic artwork captures a moment of introspection and elegance through fluid lines and vibrant colors. Central to the composition is a figure in a graceful, crouched pose, exuding a sense of both strength and vulnerability. The artist employs a bold palette of purples, blues, and earthy tones, skillfully blending them to create a sense of movement and depth. The translucent brushstrokes give the figure an ethereal quality, as though it is both part of and distinct from its surroundings. The background swirls with abstract patterns, enhancing the sense of motion and emotion. The interplay between sharp and soft lines suggests a tension between control and release. This artwork uniquely balances abstract expressionism with a palpable emotional core, inviting the viewer to explore the intricate dance of form and color.
Presentation
Kohlene Hendrickson was born in 1958 in California (Usa). She lives and works in Romainmôtier (Switzerland). She studied Fine Arts at the Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles, worked for 12 years as an illustrator and art director, then returned to fine arts by studying fresco with Frederico Vigil, lineage of Diego Rivera. Passionate about frescoes, she went to Italy where she discovered encaustic painting. Her search for a medium that could translate transparent layering of colors and rich mass material finally evolved into her unique multi-media technique, combining the materials of beeswax, resin, pigments and gum arabic. Her artwork is luminous and expressive abstract figuration, exploring dimensionality, the human and cosmic of EROS.
She has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Usa and in Europe.
