Information: Top nineties fashion photographer Thierry created some of the nineties' hottest fashion looks, shooting with the experimentation and innovation that made him a star of the European Condé Nast and Fairchild fashion bibles (), in addition to breakthrough work in the US editions and genre-bending shoots for the UK frontrunners () and downtown chroniclers  and . These pictorials defined a decade, one enjoying the bright lights of a nostalgic millennial flashback, and put the likes of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, Carla Bruni, Amber Valletta, Eva Herzigova, Kristen McMenamy, Yasmeen Ghauri, Helena Christensen, Tatjana Patitz, and Karen Mudler on the map.

Le Gouès was also one of the first fashion photographers to feature exclusively models of African heritage and ethnicity; the success of his first book (powerHouse Books, 1997) featuring Black models, posed strikingly, nude, with skin paint treatment, led to a multi-year international campaign for Nike and featured top American athletes. His later projects on Cuban street fashion and sports culture (Popular, and Havana Boxing Club, both powerHouse Books) also influenced later campaigns and editorials. His work for brands such as Alexander McQueen, Armani, Bottega, Cartier, Fendi, Gucci, Hermés, Moschino, Paco Rabanne, Pierre Cardin, and Ralph Lauren are renowned.

Presentation

Thierry Le Gouès, born in 1964 in Brest, France, is a renowned fashion photographer who began his career in 1986. His early collaborations with Condé Nast Italy on prestigious magazines such as Vogue, L'Uomo Vogue, and Glamour quickly established his talent. Over the years, Le Gouès expanded his work to internationally recognized publications, including Vogue Hommes International, Harper's Bazaar, Allure, Interview, and many more.

Recently, Le Gouès continues to influence both the fashion and art photography landscapes with his innovative approach. His latest works combine striking visual narratives with sophisticated lighting techniques, pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion photography. Thierry's work remains highly sought after by high-end fashion houses, and his photographs are displayed in galleries worldwide. In 2025, Le Gouès is set to release a new book, which is expected to attract even more attention from the global art and fashion communities. His continued exploration of both the fashion and fine art worlds cements his place as one of the most influential photographers of his generation, with ongoing exhibitions and collaborations further expanding his artistic legacy.

Known for his exceptional skill, Le Gouès has created advertising campaigns and fashion shoots for some of the world's leading luxury brands, including Replay, Nike, Levi's, Boucheron, Hermès, Lavazza, Le Printemps, Yves Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, Pascale Bruni, Swatch, Antik Batik, Zadig et Voltaire, Marie Claire, and Moschino. His work is also featured in influential publications such as Arena, I.D, The Face, and Numéro Italie. Le Gouès is one of the founding members of the esteemed "French - Revue de Modes" magazine, and he divides his time between Paris and New York, two of the fashion world's most prominent cities.

Beyond his commercial success, Le Gouès is recognized for his artistic vision. His project "Soul" explores the female nude as a sculpture of ebony and light, inspired by the essence of Black Africa. His first book, Popular, provides a unique perspective on Cuba, showcasing the country's vibrant culture and spirit, and is available on Amazon. Throughout the 1990s, Le Gouès created some of the most iconic fashion images, capturing the experimentation and innovation that defined the era. His work with European fashion giants like Condé Nast and Fairchild, as well as his collaborations with groundbreaking British magazines such as i-D and The Face, helped shape the course of fashion photography.
