Description
Series- Inconcilable Opposites: Illusoire II
Like clouds, the freedom of living cannot be confined.
This work was born from an installation composed of twisted wires and a cloud of raw wool. A ray of light came to cross the room, revealing the tension between matter and spirit.
Here, the cloud and the wire become metaphors: that of an elusive, free spirit, which thought sometimes tries to imprison.
The work also explores the duality of our earthly incarnation, between what weighs down and what rises. It evokes the fragile balance we seek at every moment in this immense fabric of life that reinvents itself every moment.
Work exhibited several times, notably during the "Nebula" exhibitions in Guyancourt and "Through your eyes" for the bicentennial of photography in Grasse, an exhibition organized by the Ministry of Culture.
Edition of 5 copies + 2 artist proofs, on Japanese art paper giving it substance and softness.
Framing suggestion: wood-colored baguette, anti-reflective glass and UV protection and a wide off-white mat allowing the image to breathe.

Presentation
Patricia Houin is a visual artist whose hybrid practice mixes photography, embroidery, and installation. Trained at the Beaux-Arts de Versailles, she develops work where the image becomes a tipping point: a place where the real becomes clouded, moves, and reveals its sensitive areas. Her work explores the fragility of life, weightlessness, childhood, metamorphoses, and lingering traces. Embroidery introduces gesture, material, and time into the photographic instant, while the natural elements gathered along her walks anchor her work in an attention to the world, to what appears, disappears, or requires care. Between transparency and density, between presence and effacement, Patricia composes sensitive images that invite slowing down, to perceive differently what trembles, what persists, what transforms.
