In "January in the City", renowned Ukrainian artist Egor Shvachunov presents a bright winter day filled with childlike joy and the quiet charm of village life. The scene captures a snow-covered settlement under a deep, vivid blue sky, with golden sunlight casting long shadows of birch trees across the crisp snow. A mother walks with her child on a sled — a simple yet touching moment of daily winter life. Through bold colors and expressive textures, Shvachunov conveys the warmth of human connection even in the coldest season. The painting expresses nostalgia, tranquility, and the enduring beauty of Ukrainian winters, transforming an ordinary January day into a vibrant memory full of life and light.

Areas of creative activity: easel painting, drawing, conceptual photography, landart. Born December 26, 1960. Graduated from hgf KSPI in 1983. Teachers: Honored Artist Pronina VM, People's Artist Erofeev VI The exhibition activity began in 1983. Member of the Artists Union since 1994. Teacher of painting and drawing at Sumy Higher School of Culture and Arts. D. Bortniansky in 1995-2004, in the SDPU them. AS Makarenko - since 2004. Participant in regional, republican and international exhibitions.
The works are stored in the contemporary art gallery of Wurtt (Germany), the Sumy Art Museum, the Lebedin Art Museum; in galleries, private collections of Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Germany, Holland, Italy, USA, Canada.
