This artwork presents a vibrant bouquet of sunflowers set against an expansive, luminous sky. The sunflowers, rendered with thick, dynamic brushstrokes, appear vividly textured, capturing the viewer's eye with their bold shades of yellow and green. Each sunflower radiates a life of its own, their robust stems and leaves sprawling with energetic grace from a simple, elegant vase. The background features soft, swirling clouds that add a sense of depth and movement, harmoniously contrasting with the vivid foreground. The artist employs a rich palette to enhance the play of light and shadow, giving the piece a three-dimensional quality. The overall composition balances the exuberant realism of the flowers with an impressionistic execution, creating a sense of warmth and vitality that captivates the senses.
Presentation
Born on August 24, 1946 to the family of the famous Kyiv artist Petr Ivanovich Babak (1922-1973).
In 1976 he graduated from the Kharkov Art and Industrial Institute, department of industrial graphics. Studied in the workshop of Egorov and Professor Vikhtinsky
During his studies, he received several awards for participating in poster competitions.
Since 1999, he has taken part in regional and all-Ukrainian exhibitions and plein airs.
The artist's personal exhibitions were held in Kharkov (1998, 2002, 2007, 2017), Germany (1999), Krasnograd (2003), Lvov (2009).
Diploma winner of the international plein air dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of I.E. Repin
Since 2003 Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine
The works of Vyacheslav Babak are in museums of Ukraine (Krasnograd, Chuguev), as well as in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, USA, Spain, Israel.
Works in a creative workshop
Vyacheslav Babak is a recognized master of landscape painting. The artist's canvases are filled with lyricism and romantic mood.
His color palette is devoid of excessive expressiveness; in almost every painting, the image of nature is depicted using the quiet “sound" of soft halftones, giving lightness and depth.
