Description
This artwork presents a dreamlike scene where boats, painted in bold and vibrant colors, carry houses stacked in a precarious balance. The buildings, rendered in brilliant shades of red, blue, and yellow, defy gravity as they float serenely upon stylized waters. The sky, dotted with suggestive clouds, adds a surreal dimension to the whole. Fish with geometric patterns seem to accompany these vessels, accentuating the painting's fantastic atmosphere. The use of distinct black lines to define each element grants the work remarkable clarity while highlighting the contrast between terrestrial and maritime elements. The artist successfully creates a hybrid and dynamic universe where imagination takes precedence over reality, inviting the viewer to dream and explore the unexpected.
Presentation
Marie-Aude MOLIN was born in 1962 in Aisne (France)
Marie-Aude's artistic adventure began in 2012 while she was living on Reunion Island. Initially an author and composer, ranging from poetry to slam against the backdrop of acoustic guitar, the self-taught artist chose in 2014 to devote herself entirely to her new passion for drawing and painting.
Since then, she has created unique works, in a very graphic style that lies between illustration and comic strips.
In each of her works, which she draws beforehand with a black acrylic marker, then most often paints with watercolor using a technique that allows her to obtain intense and luminous colors, she likes to divert reality to treating it with humor and poetry, playing with shapes and colors to give birth to sometimes singular, often offbeat works, where his free imagination opens the door to all graphic fantasies.
