Description
The artwork is presented with a light or black wooden frame (your choice), accompanied by a white mat. This frame is included free of charge and can be removed upon request at the time of purchase.
This work is part of Jean-Jacques Marie's approach, based on the spontaneity of gesture and the freedom of creation. Through successive superimpositions of projections, lines, and colors, the artist constructs a dense pictorial space where each intervention contributes to a constantly evolving balance.
The multiple layers of material and chromatic contrasts create a vibrant composition, animated by a network of lines that traverse the entire surface. The eye moves freely between areas of tension and more open passages, gradually discovering the richness of the interactions between forms, colors, and rhythms.
Through its controlled energy and visual complexity, this work testifies to Jean-Jacques Marie's ongoing research into movement, color, and gestural expression.
Presentation
Jean-Jacques Marie is an artist whose atypical and passionate career reflects a relentless quest for new forms of expression. Born in 1949 in the Paris region, he initially distanced himself from his passion for art, yielding to social pressures that guided him towards a more conventional life. At the age of forty, however, he decided to devote himself fully to his vocation, beginning a creative journey marked by experimentation, self-taught work and a profound transformation of his artistic approach.
Exploring various mediums, including Chinese ink, he discovered avant-garde Asian abstraction, which redefined his art. This evolution led him from figurative to a lyrical and vibrant abstraction. He then developed a unique technique, "Projected Abstraction", where the paint is projected vertically onto textured backgrounds, giving his works a visual and tactile dynamic, close to action painting through its frenetic and expressive gestures.
This metamorphosis marks a reinvention of his artistic vision, where each work becomes a projection of his unconscious. For Jean-Jacques Marie, abstraction goes beyond the simple final result to become a creative process freed from any figurative constraint. His works reflect a deep introspection, combining spontaneity and technical mastery to directly touch the viewer's soul.
Today, he continues to explore the boundaries of abstraction with an insatiable curiosity, affirming that his artistic journey is far from over. His approach, rooted in a reflection on the language of color and form, remains a perpetual quest for balance between order and chaos, between control and letting go. Each work represents a new step in this journey, a window opened onto the depths of his inner universe.
