Description
Series “Following the Movements"
This artwork was featured in the artist's solo exhibition “Points of View" at MODI Art & Wine Gallery, Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2026.
“Heart of the City" is an abstract painting for the wall, created as an accent piece with a clear rhythm and tension. It is a graphic abstract painting in which a red-and-black palette emphasizes dynamism and the inner tempo of the composition.
The work is executed on thick kraft cardboard using acrylic paint and calligraphic markers. The medium-sized format allows it to function as an accent wall painting — in an office, a study, or above a desk, where focus and composure are essential.
The lines generate a sense of movement and pulse associated with the urban environment. For this reason, the work is often chosen as a painting for concentration — it does not calm, but holds attention, helping to gather thoughts within a dense space.
This is an energetic emotional abstraction that works well in contemporary workspaces, adding character and inner dynamism to the environment.
Presentation
Iryna Rets is a Ukrainian artist born in 1974 in Donetsk. She received education in clothing design. From 1993 to 2021, she successfully worked as a fashion designer,participating in international exhibitions. In 2014, she moved to Kyiv, and in 2022,she left fashion to focus on art. Iryna explores beauty through figurative and abstract forms, offering viewers new perspectives on fragility and anti-fragility. Her clothing design skills continue to inspire her creative process and contribute to the development of new ideas in art.
Iryna Rets is a Ukrainian artist who explores fragility and anti-fragility as key themes in her work. She transforms complex emotions and challenges into sources of inner strength, zest for life, and harmony. Her art aims to prompt viewers to reconsider life's challenges and find new meanings through their experiences. Iryna's works create a space for dialogue, helping to see in the world's fragility opportunities for growth and harmony.
