Description
This artwork presents a surreal composition featuring a weathered wooden plank set against a deep blue background. The plank is elaborately adorned with an assortment of seashells, each carefully positioned to create a harmonious balance. The textures of the wood, rich with earthy tones and visible grain, contrast starkly with the smooth, iridescent surfaces of the shells. The inclusion of a spiky green sea urchin adds an intriguing focal point, drawing the viewer's eye along the top edge of the plank. ZBIGNIEW WOZNIAK (b. 1952)
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, at the Department of Glass and Ceramics. He is involved in painting, graphics and artistic glass design. He had over 40 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad: Japan, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Canada, Holland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany, Great Britain and Belgium. He is the prize winner of over twenty contests, i.e. “Szpilki” monthly’s contest in 1979 and 1987 (Zlota Szpilka). His works are to be found in many private and museum collections in Poland and abroad.
