Description
This acrylic on canvas work presents a dynamic portrait of two cats intertwined in an embrace, executed with a bold and fragmented style that merges elements of cubism and fauvism with a modern and illustrative aesthetic. The canvas is divided into a grid of asymmetrical geometric shapes, each filled with flat but vibrant colors (deep blues, soft pinks, warm oranges, creams, and neutral tones), which deconstruct the bodies of the felines and the surrounding space, creating a sense of movement and rhythmic energy. Sharp and expressive lines define the contours and details, highlighting the intimate connection between the two subjects, which seem to unite in the central embrace. The composition is balanced by simplified botanical elements —a potted plant in the background and a branch in the foreground— which introduce organic shapes to contrast with the general geometric rigidity. The interaction of complementary and analogous colors, as well as the intertwined shapes, evokes a strong feeling of harmony, warmth, and mutual affection, while the abstract background divided into a mosaic frames the central scene without distracting from its emotional focus.

Kiri Aguilera (1982) es una artista de origen cubano, actualmente residente en España, cuya obra se distingue por un lenguaje visual sofisticado donde convergen la abstracción contemporánea, la figuración poética y la expresividad gestual.
Formada en escuelas profesionales de arte, su trayectoria revela una sólida base académica que se manifiesta en el dominio del dibujo, la composición y la construcción espacial del lienzo. Sobre esta estructura técnica, la artista ha desarrollado un estilo propio, profundamente reconocible, en el que la línea adquiere un papel protagonista como elemento de ritmo, tensión y narrativa visual.
Su producción en acrílico sobre lienzo, realizada íntegramente a mano, destaca por una vibrante riqueza cromática y por la presencia de capas pictóricas cuidadosamente equilibradas. El color, lejos de ser meramente ornamental, actúa como un vehículo emocional que transforma cada obra en una experiencia sensorial de gran impacto.
