Description
Bold shapes define the space. Bright acrylics create a vivid dialogue. A deep purple cube floats atop a brilliant blue field. Below it, an orange rectangle frames a soft green center. This structure suggests a window or a portal. The lower section shifts into a rhythmic purple landscape.
The artist brings a seasoned background in graphic design and visual communications to the canvas. His precision manifests in every sharp edge. The mixed media approach adds a tactile dimension to the flat colors. This artwork explores the balance between mathematical order and spiritual reflection. It bridges the gap between digital clarity and physical matter. Each plane interacts to create a sense of architectural stability. The contrast between warm orange and cool blue generates a subtle internal tension. The composition remains centered and poised. It guides the eye from the singular floating form down to the solid base. Every line is deliberate. The result is a clean study of color and volume.
Presentation
Simone Del Sere obtained his diploma from the State Institute of Art in Florence and immediately began working in the multi-faceted world of publishing and graphic design. He illustrated books for the country's top publishers and designed logos and brands for a number of prestigious Italian companies. During the early 1990s, he worked on post-production (particularly with regard to animation and special effects) for advertisements in cinema and television. In 1999, he curated international ad campaigns with the studio Diaframma Advertising. In 2003 he joined Modus Multimedia, working across design, media communications, and new web technologies. In 2018, moved by a deeply felt, compelling drive towards research and new and different expressive media, he began experimenting with matter, beginning an artistic engagement which speaks to both societal and Christian themes.
