Description
Nguyen Minh Nam's art deals with culture and show the conflict and confusion between traditional and modern cultural values in contemporary Vietnam. The art often juxtaposes modern characters in traditional scenes to show highlight cultural conflicts and question changes in moral values in contemporary society.
This is a large sized painting on canvas, with a Vietnamese audience viewing a traditional Western nude statue. Many people appear to be criticizing the statue and its sexuality without considering their own modern values.
