Underwater painting a new fast growing direction in contemporary art. Artwork was created underwater during scuba diving at the depth of 5 meters, underwater session 120 minutes. By influence of underwater environment, feeling of no gravity, colorful imimpression, another reality - It feels different, brain works different, colors and shapes just blows your mind. Old pier stick out on the surface with rusty, inconspicuous sticks, and under water they have turned into a fairy forest - a forest of metal pillars overgrown with soft corals has become a home for marine life. The integration of man in nature and the adaptation of nature to new conditions. The combination of the beautiful and the ugly, nature and the human introduction into it. The rays of the sun make their way through the water and illuminate the corals making them glow from the inside. Urbanism and nature. For underwater painting Olga used oil on canvas, palette knife technique, style underwater impressionism.
Olga is an artist and scuba diving instructor, she draw her inspiration from being underwater. She traveled around the world, dives in different ocean and sea for discovering new colors, shapes, emotions, to capture all varieties of our another world – UNDERWATER. She believes when she teach people scuba diving she opens the door to new planet, to new reality in another dimension. In her art she reflects these emotions what people experience being underwater. Who have tried scuba diving once become a different person, it is not possible to forget that experience. Olga’s artworks will transfer you to that moment and you will dive in your memories with all your feelings. Piece of art will be not just a beautiful decoration on your wall but it becomes part of you, part of your space.
Olga Nikitina is a follower and developer of new direction in art – underwater impressionism, painting what was created underwater during scuba diving. However not all her art were created underwater - It is very complicated process, takes a lot of personal energy and resources. Big part of artworks Olga creates in her studio. The main focus of my painting is underwater marine life.
Underwater I have learnt not only about the many life-forms, but the shapes and colors of everything in that realm continue to blow my mind. After diving, when at home I work hard to remember what I have just seen underwater – and what I remember is not always exactly what I wish to show - this realization led me to underwater painting – taking a slow exposure photograph right next to my subject.
I have been working as a dive instructor in Egypt for the last 5 years. I absolutely fell in love with the Red Sea, with its beautiful and colorful underwater life, spectacular drop-off views and magnificent coral reefs. I love to take underwater pictures but I feel as well that it is not enough to communicate my admiration for the Red Sea. I realize I can do it only through my soul – through my painting. And the best way to feel inspiration it is to be there, to be a part of marine life, to be immersed in the underwater environment.
Painting underwater is completely different from traditional painting above the surface. When I am underwater I feel the ocean energy and unity with nature, silence around, only I can hear my breathing and sometimes fish rambling. It is easy to enter a trance state when painting underwater. Rays from the sun penetrating through the water are magical - you can see and feel that this is the point where two different worlds intersect and mix – and this is a favorite subject to reflect in my paintings.
I believe that with my paintings more people will fall in love with the world of the sea, and become involved in the protection of our oceans for future generations to enjoy and wonder at. That is what I wish to come of these works and this experience in my life.

Where can I have my order delivered?
