Description
Exhibited and published in the catalog. The work comes from the maps/roads series and is a unique piece. It will be sent rolled up in a tube with all the necessary documentation. His creative process is very much inspired by the notion of “place”. She questions, in a broad sense, how the place creates connotations in the human mind. On the contrary, how we shape the place in our imagination. Representations of landscape in his di lei work frequently evoke notions of location, states of belonging and boundaries – both material and psychological.
Presentation
Çiğdem Menteşoğlu works based on personal history that lies between fiction and reality. She investigates subjective interpretations of the real world around her and transforms them into transcriptions of a human condition.
Basically, she works with paintings, drawings, installations and video art. She is inspired by images, news, dreams, historical photos, etc. Her installations by lei are combined with painting and drawing.
