Description
In Greek mythology, Eurydice is a dryad (nymph of trees and in particular of oak).
Divinities of nature, the dryads were born and lived in the forests. More exactly in the trees and if they were cut down, they would die.
They were often very beautiful, many men and gods fell in love with them.
The most famous is Eurydice, wife of the hero Orpheus.
But Gier tells us much better about it! :
“The dryads, do you know these discreet nymphs dedicated to the protection of trees and woods in Greek mythology?
I took the story of one of them, Eurydice, as a pretext to compose this last opus of the year 2022.
Eurydice is therefore a nymph, super cute like all nymphs, with whom Orpheus falls madly in love. And since he's a nice, handsome guy and he does the housework, they end up as a couple. One day, the poor girl is bitten by a snake and there she goes from life to death. Orpheus is disgusted, sad, unhappy, downcast but our fellow remains combative and neither one nor two, he descends into hell to negotiate the return of his beauty in broad daylight. Hades, who isn't such a bad guy, accepts but imposes a stupid condition on him; during the ascent, it must not turn over. OK, we go there, we have a drink, we remake the world and hop the journey back begins. Pi, after a while, Orpheus starts to think, is she following Eurydice or not? This old macho must still believe that a weak woman was incapable of enduring such a journey, as if she who spends her life frolicking naked in the countryside did not have as many physical resources as him. Well, he can't stand it any longer, this donkey ends up turning around and, since Hades is a man of his word, well, the affair ends rather badly since now this poor Eurydice is paying the price for the weaknesses of her Jules, she is grabbed by the master of the boiler and returns to the warmth with the boss of the underworld who finds himself very happy to have such a hottie as a guest! (sic)

The body carries the young and the old, madness and wisdom, hard knocks and happiness.

Its exclusive support is paper. He works in mixed media (dry techniques and water), he uses any material likely to enrich his pictorial vocabulary.

The effects of materials are made according to a watercolor technique that is unique to it, which makes it possible to work both in the roughness of the raw materials and in the lightness and transparency of the colors.
Lovers of the verb, it is not uncommon to find writings in his works and yet here is a painter who likes to say nothing about his works, or as little as possible, considering that any comment acts as a filter that distorts the senses of the viewer , leads him to lands that are not his own, formats him and helps to intellectualize the work, something he dreads above all else.
The artist exhibits without borders, rewarded by the "prize of the original artwork" in the spring of 2011 during the Marseille critic's fair, whose jury president was Georges Briata.
