In this abstract composition, Giuseppe Panzica unfolds a dreamlike landscape dominated by a large, intense yellow disc, whose presence evokes both a veiled sun and a suspended moon. This luminous circle contrasts sharply with the cold, textured background, composed of deep greys, swept whites, and metallic nuances that suggest a misty sky or a wintery atmosphere.
In the foreground, a series of black vertical forms—sometimes thin and threadlike, sometimes thick and fragmented—emerge like silhouettes of trees or undefined structures. Their stretched, almost scratched appearance creates an irregular visual rhythm that strengthens the tension between abstraction and implied landscape. The streaks, drips, and irregularities give the work a spontaneous, almost improvised character, as if each gesture retained traces of speed and energy.
This juxtaposition between the hypnotic calm of the yellow circle and the dark dynamism of the vertical forms gives the painting a mood that is at once mysterious, meditative, and slightly unsettling. Panzica explores the delicate balance between light and darkness, order and chaos, materiality and transparency.
