Description
This artwork commands attention with its dynamic interplay of textures and colors. Central to the piece is a swirling grey abstraction, evoking a sense of movement and mystery. This core is enveloped by a geometric frame, skillfully using the contrast of sharp angles against the fluidity of the central form. The earthy tones of browns and oranges surrounding the core create a warm, almost primordial atmosphere, suggesting themes of nature and transformation. The rough, expressive brushstrokes contribute to an organic texture that invites closer examination. The piece’s strategic use of contrasts—soft versus sharp, cool versus warm—creates a compelling visual tension. Its ability to convey motion and emotion through abstract forms makes it a captivating piece, engaging the viewer’s imagination and evoking diverse interpretations.

In 1998, the Richmond Art Gallery in Richmond, British Columbia, held a forty-year retrospective of her work which the curator, Gregg Simpson.
