Description
This captivating series by the artist explores the enigma of the afterlife, questioning our destiny after death. Emerging from the artist's imagination, each canvas invites introspection on the journey to another realm. The spirits that come to life on the canvas are the result of deep reflection on the continuity of existence beyond death. Every brushstroke gives shape to the artist's thoughts on life after death, opening a window to a mysterious realm and inviting the viewer to contemplate the mysteries of the beyond.
Presentation
Using different techniques (acrylic, spray, greasy pastels, charcoal) and supports (coated or not, wood assembled) I trace my way between abstract expressionism, a decisive aboriginal inspiration, modern influences, urban and my youth in Africa. It is a group of contemporary painters who, through Hélène Frankenthaler, Cy Twombly, Basquiat, Kikuo Saito to Oscar Murillo, Joe Bradley, Ida Ekblad, André Butzer... , inspires me.
When I paint I make incursions into my reason, my knowledge then I let myself be carried away by forms, colors and emotion. The painting then happens of itself, a form by training another, a color by calling another until an imbalance of tasks and features speaks to me and satisfies finally (but momentarily...) the hope that creation has generated in me.
