Description
Since the 1990s, Paul Laufer has worked in abstract art. With this series of compositions made of broad splater strokes (large brush) where several colors mix in gradient passages, where the colors are worked in their transparency, the artist pursues a reflection on nuances. As for the form, the plastic research leads the author to develop compositions which use rhythm, repetition or symmetry to find analogies with musical writing, Laufer finding today a large part of his inspiration in jazz . “Easy on the eyes” is the title of a standard and words that engage a visual art approach.
