Description
"Painting from my memories and emotions, I view the outside world from an inward perspective. I gather inspiration from walking and wandering, but am not motivated to paint only "what the eye can see." I am most concerned with capturing my emotional response to the subject I've chosen to paint. My artistic mission is to transcend rather than imitate, and I hope my paintings offer my audience a reprieve from the everyday view."
Presentation
Artist Statement:
Lisa gathers information from walking and wandering, but she is not motivated to paint only "what the eye can see." She is most concerned with capturing "the spirit" in her paintings, and it is her emotional response to her subject that inspires her paint. This original oil painting has been painted on a stretched gallery canvas, 1.5" deep. Framing is not necessary, but a personal preference, as she softly extends the painting to the sides of the canvas for a finished look. The painting has a slightly glossy finish. It is signed, wired and ready to hang. Lisa has been painting with oils for over twenty years and she continues to use them today because of their unrivaled qualities for brilliance, depth of color and longevity.
Education:
• Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, UNH, Oil Painting;
