Description
Klish 77
Andriy Klishyn's painting "Wasteland" captures the haunting beauty of an endless, barren expanse bathed in golden hues. The composition is stripped of any distinct landmarks, allowing the viewer to be fully immersed in the vast emptiness of the landscape. The textured brushstrokes create layers of warmth, where the horizon subtly fades into the sky, blurring the boundaries between earth and atmosphere. The dominant yellow and ochre tones evoke a sense of arid desolation, yet there is also an underlying warmth that suggests resilience and quiet endurance. The sky, with its delicate streaks of light, hints at a setting or rising sun, reinforcing the idea that even in desolation, time moves forward, bringing transformation.Through "Wasteland", Klishyn expresses themes of solitude, transience, and the raw power of nature. The painting invites contemplation of both physical and emotional landscapes, where emptiness can be both overwhelming and serene. It challenges the viewer to find beauty in simplicity and meaning in the vastness of the unknown.
Presentation
Born on February 27, 1958 in the city of Kirovabad, Republic of Azerbaijan. Almost immediately after birth he moved to Eastern Kazakhstan, to the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. He graduated from the Technical and Economic Institute and worked as an engineer, teacher, and then in the field of insurance, finance and banking. Since May 2014, a forced migrant has been living in Kyiv.
The artist about himself:
“As a professional artist, I started my career late, at 61 years old. But it is possible that this was what should have happened. Everything has its time. Rich life experiences have become the source of my creativity. My art is ambiguous and unlike any other, probably because “I paint with my heart." Sometimes I use an intuitive drawing, namely: not from life or from a photograph, but only what suits the subconscious, soul, heart.
Most importantly and completely unexpectedly for me, after a series of works I began to understand where my images come from... I think that I or my essence saw them in our past or future life.
Despite my little experience, I already have more than two hundred paintings, about forty of them have found “their home" in private collections and museums."
The paintings are in the Lutsk Art Museum, in the Korsakov Family Museum of Contemporary Art.
