Description
The crumpled sheets of soggy paper flutter in the air above the barren and gloomy landscape. In the earthly-colored image, a dark ground and smoky sky landscape unfold, shrouded in a mysterious atmosphere. Artūras Braziūnas is particularly interested in optical illusions of different textures – from the light reflection of metal in valleys, craters of planets and celestial bodies, yellowing and withering leaves, rough bark, to stormy clouds. Sometimes the aim of the paintings is not to create a realistic, but rather a different, not formed by strokes, but by pouring or dotting, surface.
Presentation
Artūras Braziūnas is a representative of the young generation of Lithuanian professional artists. The artist has organized about 20 solo exhibitions, and his works are exhibited in various European countries and the USA. In his works, Braziūnas creates characters through which he communicates with the audience, each conveying a certain message, while natural images construct a dreamlike world. His paintings invite viewers to immerse themselves in the harmony of colors, to transition to a brighter and cleaner reality. Braziūnas' works are surrealistic and continue the early modernist painting traditions of Lithuania. https://www.paveikslaitau.lt/autoriai/arturas-braziunas
