Description
This artwork superbly captures the mesmerizing beauty of a tranquil woodland scene during the delicate transition between winter and spring. The forest is dense with tall, perennial pine trees that stretch majestically towards the sky, their needle-clad branches adorned with remnant patches of snow. The scene is bathed in the warm hues of the setting sun, casting a golden glow upon the melting snow and serene water surface below. A key feature of this composition is the brilliant interplay of light and shadow, where the setting sun's rays filter through the tree trunks and branches, infusing the forest with a sense of warmth and renewal.
The water, perhaps a slow-moving river or a still pond, reflects these radiant amber and orange tones exquisitely, creating a harmonious contrast with the cool white of the unmelted snow. This meticulous depiction also pays homage to the subtleties of nature's colors - the blue-green of the pine needles, the earthy browns of the tree trunks, and the soft gradations of the snow from pure white to gentle shades of grey. Presentation
Emily Mae's work is characterized by expressiveness, airy brushstrokes and intense colors. The author is mainly engaged in landscape painting using techniques such as acrylic, oil or soft pastel.
Her main inspiration is nature and above all the forest, where she spent many free moments with her family as a child. Currently, walks in the forest help her with sorting out her thoughts and also as a source of peace and balance. During these walks, Emily captures with her camera a scene that interests or inspires her, and then transforms it into a canvas in an impressionistic style, but with elaborate details.
Her paintings are full of energy, rich colors and characteristic, quivering handwriting. With her unique approach to landscape painting, Emily is able to penetrate the viewer's soul and bring him a feeling of peace, harmony and connection with nature.
She studied theory and history of art and design at London's Kingston University, where she currently lives and works as an art teacher and art educator.
