Description
Discover this unique creation by , skillfully blending urban collage and cultural homage. At the heart of the composition, an iconic figure of cinema, Charlie Chaplin, elegantly emerges against a vibrant, bright yellow background. His mischievous gaze and his famous attire add a retro touch, contrasting beautifully with the torn and layered posters.
The multiple layers reveal fragments of concert posters, vintage typography, and graffiti in vivid tones—blue, red, and black—creating a rich and dynamic sense of depth. The subtle integration of black tags enhances the street art authenticity, offering a raw yet refined piece, true to urban aesthetics.
This unique artwork celebrates the legacy of the 7th art while firmly anchoring itself in the modernity of the streets. Perfect for lovers of urban art and cinema, it will bring a bold and colorful artistic touch to any interior space.
Presentation
Guillaume Picart, known as Lasveguix, is a French artist from Seine-Saint-Denis, who began his artistic career as a graffiti artist under the pseudonym of Guix along the Canal de l'Ourcq, when he was teenager. After a break in artistic creation, he returned to his passion in 2022 and is currently working on the production of numerous works in various media, mainly inspired by the influence of pop art.
Lasveguix is directly inspired by Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains, and uses photographs of famous faces as well as torn posters to create his paintings. He then covers these supports with graffiti and splashes of paint, which gives life to colorful and powerful works, reminiscent of sections of urban walls torn from the street.
His artistic signature is based on his ability to give relief and volume to his paintings. He cultivates a real taste for the texture and material of torn paper, thus creating an impression of movement, by superimposing successive layers of paper.
