Mon Charlie, 2026

Xavier Wttrwulghe

Through this work, Wttrwulghe Xavier revisits the timeless icon of Charlie Chaplin in a contemporary, vibrant, and deeply personal interpretation.

The famous character of , recognizable by his hat, mustache, and singular elegance, becomes here the support of a dialogue between cinema, pop art, and street art. The glasses, a true signature of the artist, reflect a colorful and imaginary city, like a window open to another world.

The contrasts between the deep black of the character, the vibrant colors, the handwritten inscriptions, and the interventions of painting and spray give the work an urban energy while retaining a certain nostalgia. The words , or even echo the universe of Chaplin and his universal message: laughter, freedom, and the ability to see the world differently.

This work thus mixes homage and contemporary reinterpretation. It invites the viewer to go beyond the image of the icon to discover, behind the glasses, a world where color, humor, and emotion take precedence.

A strong and expressive piece, intended for lovers of contemporary pop art, cinema, and works laden with cultural references.
