Description

This captivating work presents a vast labyrinth in aerial view, where the thick walls create a complex geometric pattern. The shades of blue and green, mixed with shadows, reinforce the depth and give a mysterious and almost hypnotic atmosphere. A ladder leaning against a wall and a tiny silhouette suggest a solitary journey, symbolizing the perpetual quest for meaning and freedom. The artist masters the illusion of three-dimensionality, inviting a reflection on the challenges and choices available to each of us.

Notseig

France  • 1993

Presentation

His sensitivity combined with his solitude calls him to creation… He tries the piano, but ends up putting it aside “today the piano is a one-sided Love, which I sabotaged, but which I do not give up”. He also tries the guitar, attempts the creation of jewelry, but without much conviction… “it cleared my head, but that’s all”. He also composes music, for which he takes the pseudonym Notseig, but there again he sabotages himself. Drawing, Art? Of course he thought about it and remembers a few drawings and the pleasure of having made them (and their result) but from there to becoming an artist? Unimaginable for him! Always due to a lack of self-confidence… “I was broken, sabotaged, so denigrated, by others, then by myself”. Pierre is in full wandering between his wounds and his solitude… He senses art as a way to express what he is and feels the urge to create, but without daring or assuming it, he refuses art and in particular drawing, which will nevertheless become his medium. Because one day, he tells me, “I read a book that was a trigger. I then reversed the direction of the slope”. Its title is evocative: “stop being nice, be true” by Thomas d'Asembourg… What does that change? Everything for Pierre… Because he understands that he has never been himself, true, but only the reflection of the desires of others or their projections, and never up to their expectations… For these reasons, he has forbidden himself… drawing. He wants to break this paradigm and decides to take a pencil, a sheet of paper. “I remember this blank sheet of paper… The first line I made on it was one of the most difficult acts of my life. But gradually the following ones became easier and easier... Pierre was reborn... Notseig, as an Artist, also saw the light of day... Drawing never left him and Pierre never stopped improving so that his line would be ever more faithful to his emotions... Then, he discovered photography, and decided to improve himself with the same desire: to harmonize the fruit of his creation with HIS inner universe. Which led him to want to go further in the image and its composition: he learned to work and especially recompose the image by computer, and created works in digital art. Drawing, photos, or digital art: three very different mediums that he uses to transcribe his emotions, and/or the narration of his universe. But who, in Notseig, find their union, their resonance, their harmony through the sincerity of what drives him and with which he imbues his works. Because we must therefore understand, in order to feel it, that Notseig's works, whatever the medium, always emanate either from an emotion that they translate, or from a desire to narrate his universe. Universe made of imagination, fantasy, and a part of mysticism coming from his deep questions about his place in the world. Thus, as the conscious is connected to the unconscious, or as what is the abstract reported to the figurative: either his emotion is translated in its sensitive and especially instantaneous, pure dimension, or in a narrative context. Drawing? Some are born from an unthinking line, each pencil stroke emerging and being guided by the previous one, then approaching a form of abstraction. Others come from an intention that the artist has in mind and wishes to project on paper, because the narrative intention is then more figurative. Photography and/or digital art? It is the same... Photography is sufficient in itself to capture a pure emotion in an image, where the artist will suddenly stop at the side of the road to freeze what he has just seen because he has found an echo with his own emotions or because it has generated a strong emotion in him. But when it is a narrative desire, the artist carries out a work of composition, of recomposition of images, leaving photography to exploit the techniques of digital art. He thus varies the mediums according to his intention, and his desire, but always carried by the expression of his sensitivity. Each work has for him an intense emotional scope. Pierre creates, at this time, without having any other goal than to do what he loves, and not yet the desire to live from it and to assume his creation by submitting it to the gaze of others... He creates for himself, to give free rein to what he is and inhabits it, determined to "be true". He accumulates works, and also gains confidence… He DARES the desire to show his works first via social networks under the pseudonym Notseig. His works collect “likes”, laudatory comments… He then creates his website and sells his first works… The artist who has ultimately always been in him, but repressed, exposes himself and finally assumes himself. “I had never accepted to assume myself as an artist: I take back MY place”. He approaches a gallery in Limoges, where he lives, they exhibit him. And that's when he contacts Art Traffik... It's love at first sight, both with the man and the artist and his works... Which makes us all the happier to represent him with the firm intention of making his works, his Talent, more widely known, so that he can reap the success they deserve, that he deserves. Enter the world of Notseig and let yourself be carried away, touched by his world, his ultra-sensitivity, while letting yours express itself... It could well be that then, now that you have the keys, the thrill is there...
