Portrait #13 and #3, Diptych, 2023

Luigi Christopher Veggetti Kanku   New & remarkable Artists

This artwork presents a striking diptych of two abstract portraits rendered in a blend of charcoal, ink, and muted gray tones. The left panel captures a profile of a woman, her features softly emerging from an expressive, textured background, evoking a sense of introspection. On the right, the frontal pose intensifies the emotional depth with bold, confident strokes that convey solemnity and strength. The artist masterfully uses negative space and spontaneous splatters to enhance the dramatic effect, emphasizing the raw, unrefined beauty of the human form. Hints of underlying orange peek through the monochromatic palette, adding warmth and subtle complexity. This piece stands out for its ability to fuse abstraction with figuration, creating an evocative and thought-provoking visual narrative.
