Description
This artwork presents a surreal landscape dominated by earthy, brown hues, and exudes an enigmatic atmosphere. Central to the composition is a large, dark shape reminiscent of an abstract heart, subtly textured with fine cracks, suggesting fragility or age. In stark contrast, a patterned, triangular plane stretches across the scene, creating a geometric tension against the organic backdrop. Perched on this plane is a small, solitary figure, unidentifiable, seemingly contemplative or desolate. Above, another serpentine, patterned element introduces dynamic movement, leading the eye across the canvas. The juxtaposition of patterns against the organic form and muted tones reinforces themes of isolation and introspection. This piece uniquely blends abstraction with figurative elements, evoking a sense of mystery and inviting viewers to ponder the relationship between the elements within the composition.
Presentation
The German artist Robert Stieghorst was born in 1987 in Bielefeld. He followed an artistic course at the Art University of Berlin (UDK). Today he lives and works in Berlin.
The surrealist movement and artists as Luis Bunuel and Wes Anderson particularly influence Robert Stieghorst.
His work is characterized by the use of mixed medias as collage or installations. His artworks represent most of the time surrealist and imaginary images around themes like solitude, identity and the place of truth between dream and reality - everything that touches the human existence.
Robert Stieghorst participated in many exhibitions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scotland.
