Description
This monochromatic artwork presents a contemplative figure seated on a sandy shore, draped in flowing attire. The skyline behind them features the iconic Twin Towers, dominating the serene cityscape. A striking meteor streaks across the starlit sky, adding a sense of cosmic wonder and introspection. The juxtaposition of the natural beach setting with the urban cityscape highlights a harmonious balance between solitude and urbanity. The detailed rendering of both the figure and the architectural elements emphasizes a surreal combination of earthly and ethereal elements. This piece uniquely captures a moment of reflection amidst grandeur, evoking themes of time, space, and introspection. The absence of color enhances the artwork's timeless quality, encouraging viewers to find meaning beyond the visual narrative.
Presentation
The German artist Robert Stieghorst was born in 1987 in Bielefeld. He followed an artistic course at the Art University of Berlin (UDK). Today he lives and works in Berlin.
The surrealist movement and artists as Luis Bunuel and Wes Anderson particularly influence Robert Stieghorst.
His work is characterized by the use of mixed medias as collage or installations. His artworks represent most of the time surrealist and imaginary images around themes like solitude, identity and the place of truth between dream and reality - everything that touches the human existence.
Robert Stieghorst participated in many exhibitions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scotland.
