Description
In this work, I explore the depths of human emotion through textures and subtle shades of black. Using a satin and gloss binder combined with a black pigment, I created an abstract painting where each stroke of the spatula is a meditation on the complexity of our inner states. The glossy texture of this work takes on the colors of the environment in which it is hung. The choice of this black and the segmentation of the space evoke a reflection on the tumults and calms of life. With this painting, I wish to pay homage to a song by Depeche Mode and evoke the emotions it may have provoked in me. Thus, this piece is intended to provoke deep contemplation, adding an introspective dimension to any space where it is exhibited.
Presentation
Coming from a lineage of artists, Alain Churlaud excels in a variety of media, including oil and acrylic. Inspired by nature, this expressive artist uses distinctive techniques such as the use of spatula, brush, roller, sand and sawdust to create a unique natural texture. His abstract works, which for him often have a meaning, transmit a renewed look at reality and invite contemplation and appreciation of the present moment.
