After the Night Fell: Deep Blue Silk, 2025

This work is an ode to touch, to memory, and to the silent poetry of what remains. It is a textile piece, created with 100% natural silk — deep navy blue in tone — gently fixed onto canvas in soft, deliberate folds. Each crease holds a whisper, a shadow, a trace of movement.

To me, this piece evokes the intimate stillness of a bed after a night of love — that quiet, breathless moment suspended between memory and morning. The silk is not just fabric here; it is a skin, a surface that remembers, a landscape of tenderness. Its elegant disarray suggests a story told without words, only through texture, light, and absence.

I chose silk because of its sensuous nature — its ability to shimmer like water, to hold light like a secret. The folds are not arranged mechanically, but shaped through touch, intuitively, like sculpting a mood. This is not a painting in the traditional sense, but rather a preserved gesture — a tactile emotion sealed into form.

It is both minimal and evocative, luxurious yet restrained. A piece that invites closeness, not through detail, but through sensation. “After the Night" speaks to what we leave behind — the warmth, the echo, the blue.
