Description
This captivating work presents a vibrant coastal landscape with a mastery of color and light reminiscent of Impressionism. The deep blue of the sea and sky create a striking contrast with the warm hues of the town, dominated by a church with an imposing steeple. The mountains in the background add natural depth and harmony to the painting. The soft shadows and delicate highlights demonstrate a precise technique that captures the spirit of the place, suggesting a peaceful Mediterranean atmosphere. The slightly blurred architectural details demonstrate an artistic approach focused on overall effect rather than photorealistic precision. This landscape, with its balanced composition and bold use of color, illustrates the eternal beauty of sun-drenched coastlines.
Presentation
Joan Sola Puig, 1951-2020
solá paints in a natural way, which reflects the old masters, soaking up the color, the air, the smell and the pure smell of his environment. He transmits to his canvas a strange mixture of emotion and poetry that reveals an earthly force that only some can achieve, capable of disinterest and completely devoid of artifice and anecdotal. With this approach, he reaches and expresses the essential.
It is remarkable that his atmospheric mastery, poetic restraint and use of colour constitute a personal and rare ability, with a bold and vigorous but at the same time thoughtful and measured application of the brush, to achieve an expressive but serene work capable of connecting so intimately with its audience.
Joan Solà is able to transmit on the canvas in an infallible way. The shadows that seem to catch their breath, the pulse of a sleeping land and with clear visions the harmonized values of the close-ups of the past. He is able to reflect the feeling developed in contact with nature with the eloquence and interpretation served by serene experiences.
