Description
Litv 1060
"Dreams" by the renowned Ukrainian artist Daniil Litvinov is a fantastical and symbolic journey into the unconscious mind, where eroticism, mythology, and surreal visions intertwine. At the center of the composition lies a nude female figure, resting in a sensuous, almost divine slumber, cradled by a dreamlike chariot drawn by powerful horses and armored warriors. The background teems with baroque and grotesque imagery—angels, masks, flowers, and mythological beings—blurring the line between beauty and chaos, pleasure and danger. The pink sky enhances the surreal quality of the scene, suggesting that we are inside a dreamscape, free from logic and gravity. The armored figure holding the woman hints at the duality of passion and control, while the surrounding faces and forms reflect the layers of the human psyche—desire, fear, innocence, and power. Through this painting, Litvinov expresses the intensity and complexity of dreams as a reflection of the inner world. He invites the viewer to explore the space between sleep and wakefulness, where fantasy is unbound and the imagination reigns.
