Passion, 2025

Alisa Leonets

This work is about the inner fire that remains unseen from the outside. When you appear calm, unremarkable, almost transparent — but inside, everything is burning.

It's about the gap between how you're perceived and what's truly happening within. About hidden intensity — invisible, yet alive, driving, breaking, and rebuilding.

The landscape here is like an iceberg: restrained on the surface, volcanic underneath.

This surreal artwork features a dramatic mountain landscape, where the peaks are painted in bold shades of red and deep maroon, capturing a sense of otherworldly beauty. Against this striking backdrop, a red sphere, symbolizing the sun, hangs low in the sky, casting an ethereal glow. A singular cloud, pink and nebulous, drifts across the scene, adding a touch of whimsy and contrast. Below, a lone, frosty tree stands in stark isolation, its white and gray tones contrasting sharply with the vibrant surrounding hues. The meticulous blending of colors creates a dreamlike quality, evoking a sense of mystery and tranquility. This painting is a masterful exploration of color and form, challenging traditional landscape art with its imaginative and bold approach.
