Description
This artwork is a mesmerizing fusion of abstract expressionism and vibrant natural imagery. Dominated by a rich, dark background, the composition bursts with dynamic shades of blue and hints of pink, creating an ethereal contrast. The central figure, obscured and abstract, appears to merge with the surrounding elements, suggesting themes of transformation and fluidity. Delicate flowers and butterflies, depicted with graceful brushstrokes, float around the figure, infusing the piece with movement and life. The painting's allure lies in its ability to blur the boundaries between the real and the imagined, leaving the viewer entranced in its dreamlike atmosphere.
Vanessa is a painter whose work focuses on the classical descriptive depiction, painted in a contemporary manner. Emphasis is given to facial expressions and body movements, which is reinforced by abstract twists, strong gestures and, often, surrealistic elements. Vanessa explores human inner states like loneliness, nostalgia, love and the need for freedom. Her works are held in private collections in Europe, UK, Australia and US.
Presentation
Vanessa is a contemporary painter whose work explores the emotional and psychological inner world. Her practice is driven by an attempt to give form to inner visions and reflections, translating emotions sparked by poetry, sound, memory, and fleeting human encounters into layered visual compositions. Rather than depicting individuals, Vanessa paints figures as symbols of inner landscapes — spaces shaped by longing, fragility, desire, and quiet resistance.
Working primarily with oil paint, she builds translucent layers of light and shadow, balancing abstraction with subtle figuration. Through expressive gestures and evolving forms, her paintings capture the fragile tension between silence and emotion, giving visual form to states that remain unseen.
Her works are held in private collections across Europe, the UK, Australia, and the United States.
