Bazévian Delacapucinière is a French artist whose works have appeared in numerous exhibitions and publications in Europe, America and Asia.
My work focuses on oxidized images from the collective memory of the 20th century. According to Aristotle, from memory to reminiscence, it is necessary to reactivate images through the imagination to know their sensitive power. Consequently, the gaze (of portraits) becomes power, texture becomes light. Finally, this transposition of images becomes my individual memory.
Presentation
Bazévian Delacapucinière is a French artist whose works have appeared in numerous exhibitions and publications in Europe, and also in America or in Asia.
Bazévian focuses on portraits of women, men and children. Face is central in Bazévian's work. As a social vector, it brings an emotional dimension through the gaze. On the other hand, Bazévian also unpacks consumerist images that saturates society by creating female faces with vivid colors. Finally, Bazévian also paints iconic portraits of women and men that have marked the history of mankind.
