The Oil painting Cardboard titled “Children are walking by the river" captures the timeless innocence of childhood set against the serene backdrop of a countryside riverbank. The artist employs soft yet confident brushstrokes, combining vibrant and muted colors to construct a harmonious scene where human presence gently merges with the surrounding landscape. This canvas is not only a depiction of rural life but also a lyrical meditation on memory, simplicity, and the beauty of everyday experiences. In the foreground, the eye is immediately drawn to the rustic wooden bridge stretching across the calm water. The bridge, painted in earthy browns and reds, is narrow and slightly uneven, embodying the handmade character of rural architecture. Its elongated form leads the viewer's gaze into the depth of the canvas, creating a natural path for exploration. The weathered boards reflect warm light, and their uneven strokes suggest both fragility and endurance, symbolizing the connection between human life and the natural environment. To the left, at the water's edge, a small boat rests quietly, tethered yet ready for use. Its rounded form, painted with dark red and black tones, contrasts with the shimmering reflections of the river. The boat adds a layer of narrative to the painting, hinting at fishing trips, playful rides, or the simple utility of river transport. Its presence strengthens the theme of coexistence between daily life and the river, which is both resource and companion to the people living nearby. The river itself dominates much of the composition, its surface painted in deep blues and greens with subtle reflections of the sky and trees. The artist uses smooth, horizontal strokes to suggest calm waters, punctuated by patches of lighter hues that reflect the surrounding landscape. The river does not rush; instead, it mirrors the tranquility of the environment, serving as both a literal and metaphorical anchor for the community. Its stillness is interrupted only by the bridge and the small human figures, reinforcing the theme of harmony rather than intrusion.
