Description
This whimsical artwork features an intricate contraption dominated by a central cello, whimsically transformed into a fantastical machine.
The assembly of various gears, pulleys, and levers conveys a sense of both complexity and absurdity, capturing the viewer's curiosity. At its foundation, a pair of jovial, cartoonish figures—one in a striped shirt and the other in a vibrant top hat—animate the scene with their playful expressions. The clever juxtaposition of musical elements with mechanical innovation highlights a surreal imagination. Soft, pastel shades add a dreamlike quality, as wisps of clouds drift in the background. This artwork uniquely blends the mechanical with the fantastical, inviting the observer to ponder the intersection of creativity and engineering.

Presentation
Janusz Stanny (b. 1932- d.2014)
Janusz Stanny was a Polish graphic artist, illustrator, cartoonist, poster artist. Since 1975 he worked in the studio of book illustration at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. Between 1986 and 2005, he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and a promoter of several dozen MA dissertations.
Having received a diploma in 1957 from the studio of prof. Henryk Tomaszewski, Stanny started his artistic career in graphic arts. Since then, he made projects of hundreds of book covers, around 50 posters, numerous illustrations for books such as Pan Tadeusz, Bible, La Fontaine's stories, Don Quixote, Andersen's fairytales. He also created visual arrangements for animated films.
His works were published, among others, in the daily Gazeta Wyborcza.
His original works are presented by Gallery of Katarzyna Napiorkowska in Warsaw and in Brussels.
