The Oil painting Cardboard titled "The scent of summer forest" immerses the viewer in a vivid and enchanting woodland scene, where light, color, and texture unite to convey the unspoiled grace of nature. Executed in bold impasto, the painting radiates vitality and richness, with every stroke of the palette knife capturing the spirit of the forest as if it were alive and breathing. The artist leads the observer into a lush and fragrant summer forest, where wildflowers bloom at the edge of a clearing, and trees glow with fresh light, embodying both serenity and majesty. The composition is divided into two essential layers: the foreground of wildflowers and the dense backdrop of towering trees. In the lower portion of the canvas, an abundant field of lupines and other forest flowers fills the scene with bursts of pinks, purples, violets, and occasional fiery reds. The thick impasto strokes make the petals and stems almost tactile, as though one could reach out and brush against their softness. Hints of emerald green and turquoise weave between the flowers, enhancing the sense of freshness and giving the impression of light reflecting off dew-drenched leaves. The repetition of upward brushstrokes echoes the natural vertical rhythm of flowers reaching toward the sky, creating an impression of vibrancy and growth. The middle ground leads the eye into the forest itself, where the trunks of tall pine and deciduous trees rise proudly, painted in strong vertical lines with deep browns, muted reds, and charcoal tones. Yet, instead of darkness, the trees exude warmth, their forms interwoven with dappled sunlight. The foliage above and around them is depicted in radiant yellows, verdant greens, and cool bluish hues, suggesting the shimmering interplay of light and shade. These leafy crowns, painted with energetic dabs and swirls, create a canopy that filters sunlight and envelops the scene in a soft, glowing embrace. The background is composed of a denser thicket, shaded in cooler tones of blue, green, and gray. This depth contrasts with the brightness of the clearing, enhancing the feeling of stepping from shadow into a sunlit glade. The darker backdrop emphasizes the brilliance of the flowers and the illuminated tree in the center, whose bright yellow-green leaves catch the most light, becoming the natural focal point of the painting.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
