In this work, PVettese reinterprets the absolute icon of the Mona Lisa (La Gioconda) in art history through a bold pop and street art lens. The central, instantly recognizable figure is highlighted by a vibrant pictorial treatment, emphasized by a strong graphic outline that sets it apart from a background teeming with contemporary colors, textures, and symbols.
The composition bursts forth in an energetic palette blending pinks, blues, greens, yellows, and blacks, evoking the world of urban graffiti. Explicit references to pop culture and luxury gravitate around the main character: a Chanel perfume bottle held confidently, a Starbucks cup in the other hand, a Tiffany & Co. heart-shaped necklace, banknotes, iconic logos, a lucky cat, Snoopy and Woodstock, the Eiffel Tower, and a stylized sphinx. Each element is integrated like a masterful visual collage, creating a dialogue between classical art, modern consumerism, and global popular culture.
The whole piece exudes a strong, ironic, and deliberate energy. This monumental work, measuring 100 × 81 cm, stands out as a powerful decorative piece, capable of structuring a contemporary space, a gallery, or a private collection, while asserting a resolutely modern interpretation of the quintessential museum icon.

Priscilla Vettese aka PVettese, a contemporary Parisian artist born in 1985, develops a unique universe at the crossroads of Pop Art, Street Art and emotional abstraction.
Her work explores the tension between pictorial chaos and visual tenderness, between innocence, popular memory, and the contemporary world. Through her works, she confronts figures from pop culture, childhood and the collective imagination with more raw environments, saturated with signs, colors, matter and symbols linked to our time: consumption, luxury, money, speed, desire or social pressure.
While Monet inspired him with the vibrancy of light, it is more the emotional intensity of Van Gogh that permeates his compositions: a vivid, vibrant, almost electric color, placed at the service of a sensitive pictorial chaos This energy also engages with the gestural freedom of Joan Mitchell and the instinctive strength of Basquiat, from whom it retains the raw momentum, the signs, the contrasts and the expressive tension.
PVettese mixes acrylic, aerosol, oil pastels, markers, collages and mixed media to create striking works on canvas, cardboard, but also in three dimensions, through 3D sculptures and collages. Her backgrounds, constructed by superimpositions, drips, projections and graphic fragments, are never simple decorations: they reveal the emotion, the inner movement and the atmosphere of each work.
In her home, pop icons are not used as mere decorative images. They become emotional anchors, bearers of memory, fragility, humor, or resistance in the face of a more chaotic world. Innocence is never naive: it becomes a gentle, almost vital force in the face of image saturation and the tensions of reality.
Winner of the Audience Award at the Rosny Arts Festival in 2020, PVettese is also known for her murals at Les Frigos and Spot 13 in Paris, as well as for her exhibitions at the ERBK gallery. She currently exhibits in France, the Netherlands and the United States, and her works are part of private collections in France and internationally.
Committed to social causes, she regularly participates in charity auctions, notably with Faire ma p'art and Humy. Blending pop culture, urban energy, and poetic introspection, PVettese creates a free, sensitive, and powerful contemporary body of work, where color becomes emotion and innocence emerges as a response to the chaos of today's world.
