The "misty moon" is a work created specifically by the artist for this exhibition.

The subject came to him on a full moon night.

He remained gazing at the star in its halo of light and water, as if emerging from a dark and disturbing ocean.

The idea came to him to restore a reassuring aspect through the emitted white light, and the small white dots, like satellites, seemed to dance in a circle around the moon.

During the painting process, the brushstrokes darted about like a mischievous sprite, creating a white blur with the force of its magic wand, and one almost expects to see its face emerge from the night and wink at us. Despite the darkness of the background, does this painting radiate the joy of renewed light, or does it symbolize darkness gradually overtaking clarity? An ambiguity that each viewer will resolve in their own way.

Presentation

He was born in Cherbourg, at the very end of the Cotentin, and spent his entire youth there. He would go to the docks of the transatlantic liners to watch the maneuvers of the small and large boats.
His desire to represent them manifested itself very early on and he began to draw old sailing ships on his own, in pencil and pen, encouraged to do so by Jean Charles Arnault, founder of the Chantereyne maritime museum.
He discovered the paintings of Marin Marie (marine painter) and it was the dazzling that led him to paint in watercolor or acrylic. Over the years, the formats have grown larger and the quality of the works has improved. The skies and the sea (always decorated with seagulls) are distinguished by the nuance of the colors and the realism of the shapes.
