Lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark
Anastasiia Lodde is a Copenhagen-based interdisciplinary artist working across painting, installation, object-based work, video, and performance. Trained in genetics, she approaches art as attentive research, drawing on repetition, mutation, and inheritance as working principles.
Her work reflects on migration, inherited memory, and historical rupture shaped by the post-Soviet condition and the ongoing experience of displacement. Drawing on family archives and everyday objects, Lodde constructs symbolic environments where private gestures intersect with political realities, often exploring distance, interrupted communication, and the fragile effort to remain connected across borders. The fish, recurring figures in
Lodde's work, appear most prominently in painting, sometimes acquiring human traits and at other times returning to more instinctive forms. Together they form a shifting world through which the artist reflects on memory, adaptation, and the process of assembling a sense of home within an increasingly unstable world.
