Description
Held by Light | White Minimal Textured Abstract Mixed Media Artwork
This mixed media artwork presents a minimalist composition focused on surface, light, and material presence. Layers of white and soft gray tones are built up to create a textured field that responds subtly to changing light conditions.
The absence of strong contrast shifts attention toward form and relief, encouraging a slower, more attentive viewing experience. The composition remains balanced and restrained, allowing the material qualities of the surface to define the visual structure.
Suitable for contemporary interiors, minimalist environments, and design-oriented spaces, this artwork integrates easily into neutral palettes while maintaining a distinct presence. It is also an excellent option for collectors interested in monochrome abstraction and tactile, material-focused practices.
Presentation
KatriTa (b. 1992) is an internationally exhibited abstract artist whose expressive, intuitive works are held in private collections worldwide, including in the United States, Switzerland, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates.
KatriTa has exhibited widely across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. Her work has appeared at major events such as the 10th Edition ArtGeminiPrize in London, the International Festival of Abstraction 2023, the Women United Art Prize in NYC, Against All Odds at One Art Space in New York, and the NY Contemporary Art Fair.
In 2025, she received a Bronze Prize at Real Illusions, a London Contemporary Art Review exhibition.
Her practice is rooted in spontaneity and the refusal to conform to strict formalism. Through fluid brushwork, layered textures, and intentionally “imperfect" lines, KatriTa embraces the beauty of human inaccuracy — revealing that emotion, memory, and inner freedom are more essential than precision. Her abstractions invite viewers to slow down, breathe, and connect with the subtle inner rhythms often lost in daily life.
Creating with acrylic, mixed media, and layered abstraction, KatriTa continues to explore the poetic tension between freedom and intention — crafting artworks that serve as quiet emotional havens for viewers around the world.
Known for her free, instinctive approach to composition, she creates paintings that blend emotional memory, atmospheric color, and gentle movement, resulting in artworks that radiate serenity and contemplative calm.
