A white hare is suspended mid-leap against a field of deep red. There is no ground, no visible destination — only the trajectory of a body fully committed to its own motion.
The leap is not escape. It is a decision made visible.
Color is reduced to two: red and white. The contrast is direct and unresolved, carrying the full tension of the moment itself. Nothing is explained. Everything is present.

Jevgenia Vassiljeva is a contemporary painter based in Tallinn, Estonia, working in large-scale acrylic and mixed media.
Her work exists at the intersection of figurative painting and psychological storytelling, where animals carry what often remains unspoken — instinct, tension, and the moment before a decision.
A bull under pressure, a hare in motion, horses moving as one or pulling apart — these figures act as mirrors of inner states rather than subjects. Each painting captures a point of tension, where instinct precedes conscious thought.
Influenced by primitive and cave art, her visual language is raw, direct, and reduced to essential forms — allowing emotion to emerge without distraction.
Scale is central to her practice. Her largest works reach 200 × 160 cm — a size that is felt before it is fully understood.
Her artworks are held in private collections across Europe and internationally, including Turkey and Australia.
